What is EFT

If you haven’t heard of EFT before, you might wonder, “What is EFT? ” EFT is an energy therapy, based on the ancient Chinese healing system of acupuncture.  It is short for Emotional Freedom Technique and it was developed by success coach Gary Craig.  He realised that his clients former traumas often held them back.  Gary was aware that old trauma often stopped them from achieving and realizing their full potential.

Mr Craig had originally trained in Thought Field Therapy, the forerunner of EFT.  Thought field therapy TFT was developed by psychologist Dr Roger Callahan.  It was the first therapy to marry the skills of psychology (mind) with meridian therapy (body).

Gary Craig created EFT  as a way to simplify the process making it easier to use.  It was therefore accessible to many more people.  It is based on the premise that energy flows through our bodies along meridians.  These meridians connect to each other and to our organs.  The body’s energy system resembles an electrical circuit.  When we’re happy and at ease the energy flows, and stress creates tension in the body, blocking the meridians.  Sometimes the energy meridian that is being effected can even shut down.

EFT is often Called the Tapping Technique

Acupuncturists use needles to unblock the meridians.  EFT practitioners tap on the points instead.  The tapping releases the energy blocks in the same way that using needles does.  Tapping on the meridian points clears the blockage and restores the body’s equilibrium.  It is thought that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system.  Clearing the blockage means energy can flow once more, and old traumas can be healed.  The body can heal once the blockages have been resolved.  EFT has amazing results with trauma, allergies, fears, anxieties, anger, healing relationships, addictions and can be used to help you achieve your goals.

The tapping technique can help you to heal and move on from the past.  It can open you up for change and greater happiness.
